The Rockaway Capital investment group has made an addition to its PR and communication team. As of October 1, it will be headed by former journalist Pavel Kalouš, who will replace Michaela Papežová in this position, who left the group after six years.

“The spring wave of the epidemic confirmed the significance and potential of communication; we noticed this both on the Rockaway level as well as for companies in our portfolio. During this demanding period, we gained unique know-how, and now we’ve also managed to add to our team. Thanks to both factors, we are well prepared for the near future, during which communication will doubtlessly play an equally important role as in the spring,” says Jan Jírovec, the Rockaway investment partner responsible for Business Development and Public Relations.

Jakub Havrlant’s investment group has experienced a hectic half-year during which it confirmed that even a crisis can be turned into an opportunity, and used this successful communication strategy. It now finds itself in a time when the Mall Group’s e-commerce platform, the Heureka shopping advisor, and Kosik.cz are preparing for the traditional culmination of the season, the Invia Group is in a difficult situation due to changing conditions in the travel industry, and other portfolio members also face challenges. The past weeks have therefore focused on the communications team at the Rockaway parent group being prepared to provide portfolio companies support and know-how.

For Pavel Kalouš, his perfect knowledge of the media environment that he has been active in for over 15 years was decisive. He started out in sports news, then switched to business news, and worked at Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Deník Sport, and for the last six years he has worked as a reporter for the Czech edition of Forbes Magazine. “I’d like to build on my experience, follow up on communication during the coronavirus crisis, and ensure that Rockaway is prepared to successfully cope with whatever is in store for us during these uncertain times,” adds Pavel Kalouš.
