We’re looking for someone who enjoys understanding how businesses work and asking the question: “Would I invest my own money in this company?”
Rockaway Alpha is the private equity fund of the Rockaway investment group. We invest in established companies across Europe with further growth potential. Our portfolio includes companies such as Euromedia, Rohlik Group and Vivantis.
All this within Rockaway – an investment group built on entrepreneurial energy, openness and an informal approach.
What will you be doing?
- You’ll be involved in the entire investment process – from sourcing new opportunities and conducting due diligence to executing transactions and working with our portfolio companies.
- You’ll prepare financial models, valuations, investment analyses and materials supporting investment decisions.
- You’ll create presentations and investment materials for the Investment Committee and internal discussions.
- You’ll take part in regular discussions on investment theses, key risks and value-creation opportunities – directly with the investment team, the fund’s investment partners and our founder and CEO, Jakub.
- Following an acquisition, you’ll see those investment theses turn into specific actions and real results within the business.
- You’ll communicate with founders, company management teams, advisers and other partners.
- Over time, you’ll take ownership of your own workstreams and selected parts of transactions.
“We work as a small team, so you’ll be involved in deals from start to finish, have direct access to decision-makers, take on a high level of ownership and have plenty of room to bring your own ideas.”
Jan Picálek, Investment Manager, Rockaway Alpha
Who are we looking for?
- You have 1–3 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, M&A, transaction services, corporate finance or strategy consulting.
- You have a solid foundation in financial analysis, financial modelling and company valuation.
- You can connect the numbers with how a business actually works and form your own investment view.
- You take ownership of your work, proactively seek out the context you need and communicate openly.
- You’re an advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint.
- You’re technology-first – you’re among the first to try new tools and AI, and you naturally use them to improve the way you work.
- You’re fluent in Czech or Slovak and English.
- You want to be involved in investments from the initial assessment through to working with portfolio companies, while gradually developing your investment judgement.
“We want to see that you’re genuinely interested in private equity and enjoy thinking about why some companies succeed in the long run while others don’t. You’re curious about business, follow new technologies and trends, and think about how they are changing companies and entire industries.”
Eva Livora, HR, Rockaway Capital
What does the role offer?
- A steep learning curve and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced investors.
- Exposure to the entire investment process and the opportunity to influence its outcome through your own perspective.
- Direct contact with founders and company management teams.
- The opportunity to grow from analytical work towards developing your own investment judgement and taking on broader investment responsibility.
- A strong entrepreneurial culture built on openness, curiosity and a willingness to take ownership.
- An environment without unnecessary corporate hierarchy, where things move quickly and good ideas are given room to grow.
- Modern offices in Dejvice, with a fully stocked fridge, CANS drinks and ice cream in the freezer.
- Fair compensation, a fully covered MultiSport card, legendary offsites and other Rockaway group benefits.
Interested? Get in touch and tell us in a few sentences: why Rockaway, and why you? We’ll start with an informal call, you’ll then meet part of the Alpha team, and the final step will be a case study. We look forward to hearing from you!
