Jan Hanuš has become the new CEO of MALL Group

Effective 1 January 2021, Jan Hanuš is the new CEO of the MALL Group. Prior to coming to MALL he spent two years as CEO of Telenor Hungary. Jakub Havrlant remains Chairman of the Board, and will continue to be responsible for the strategic development of the MALL Group.

Following the departure of Oldřich Bajer in mid-2020, the MALL Group was managed by four managers who guided the company through the turbulent Covid period. During this time, MALL built the largest marketplace on the Czech internet, resulting in a huge increase in the size of its catalogue to almost 1.5 million items. It also successfully focused on increasing the number of pick-up location and adding shipping methods. Over the last year the MALL Group significantly improved its position on the Slovenian and Croatian market and is completing its planned shift to profitability, which should be confirmed by a profitable Q4 2020.

Jan Hanuš is an experienced top manager. Aside from working for Telenor Hungary, Hanuš has also worked as CEO of Emco and of Kostelecké uzeniny. He was also a member of the management team at food companies Douwe Egberts, Vitana, and Yoplait.

Jan Hanuš says the following regarding his arrival at the MALL Group: “I’m arriving at a company that can be justifiably proud of a unique customer service that is supported by top-notch technological and logistical infrastructure. The results of this strategy can already be seen in the current results of the entire group, with year-over-year growth of 30 percent. My aim is to further improve MALL’s position in all regional markets and its continued growth. I’m expecting a lot from further development of the marketplace and the MALL Partner programme.”

Chairman of the Board Jakub Havrlant said the following regarding the naming of Jan Hanuš:”Jan’s arrival further strengthens the group’s management team. He is a manager with extensive international experience in the area of retail and technologies, and I am confident that he will help us fulfil our strategy of strong growth and sustainable profitability with a major presence in nine European markets.”
