Jan Jírovec

Investment Partner

Jan Jírovec has been an Investment Partner at Rockaway Capital since its founding in 2013. He is responsible for building long-term business partnerships, managing investor relations, and shaping the group’s brand. He also leads Rockaway Arts, the largest cultural platform in the Czech Republic, which stands behind major events such as the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Colours of Ostrava, and Designblok. Its portfolio further includes KVIFF.TV, Central Europe’s largest VOD platform for art films, and the distribution company Aerofilms.
Over the past decade, Jan has also played a key role in numerous M&A transactions across the Rockaway portfolio, including CZC, Vivantis, Košík.cz, Mall Group, WE|DO, FAST, and Heureka Group. Before joining Rockaway, he served as CEO of Allegro Group for the Czech Republic and the Baltics (part of NASPERS), where he oversaw the consolidation of the CEE e-commerce market through acquisitions of companies such as Aukro.cz, Heureka.cz, NetDirect, Bezrealitky.cz, Hotel.cz, and PayU. Earlier in his career, he helped launch PayU in Central and Eastern Europe and worked in fintech software development, in what is today known as Finshape.
