United Founders — a new €80 million venture fund and founders’ community — is uniting Europe’s most accomplished entrepreneurs to back the continent’s next generation of frontier tech startups including quantum computing, cybersecurity, MedTech, AI and Industry 4.0, sustainability, and space tech.
Some of Europe’s most prominent founders and builders are committing time and capital to make a difference for the next generation startups. Even straight from the lab or at day one, months before other investors even bother. Billion-euro company builders like Florian Seibel (Quantum Systems), Richard Valtr (Mews), Michal Pechoucek (Avast/GEN), David Pavlik (Rohlik CTO), and Alissa Hsu Lynch (The Honest Co.) are among the most esteemed members of this 100-strong United Founders Community giving back to the next generation of founders.
The fund’s founders Vít Horký (Brand Embassy sold to NICE) and Jakub Havrlant (Rockaway) established United Founders to empower the next generation of European tech builders. General Partners of the fund, Vít and Rockaway committed €17 million as a strong signal of how bullish they are about Europe’s engineering potential.
Building The Next Generation Fund for The Next Generation Decacorns
Europe is a breeding ground for the most talented software engineers, more than a quarter of all STEM graduates worldwide (26.6%) come from European universities, and Europe also accounts for 43% of global patent applications.
„The talent, however, is not matched with the same level of support as in the US. To put this in perspective, only in Q4 of 2024, Americas (mostly U.S.) investments into startups were 74,6 billion USD, while Europe was 15,6 billion USD – according to KPMG data. No European technology company has reached a valuation of over €100 billion in the last 50 years. There is not a single European company in the top ten most valuable technology companies in the world. And where there is a gap, we see opportunity. The ambition of United Founders is for Europe to have its own trillion-dollar giants like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Nvidia, and Meta,“ said Vít Horký, GP of the Fund, known among other things for several successful „exits“ of his previous companies to global giants.
“I’m delighted to join United Founders’ exceptional team and Founder Force community. As an operational VC embedded across Europe’s leading innovation hubs, we’re connecting key centres of excellence to build and support the next generation of globally competitive ventures in sovereign-critical technologies and applications. This once-per-cycle moment of transformation demands a new kind of venture model — and United Founders is delivering it across Europe,” added Tony Kypreos, Managing Partner for the UK at United Founders and Entrepreneur in Residence at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering.
Pan-European Presence
The United Founders ambition is enabled by Managing Partners based in London, Cambridge, Paris, Zurich, Munich, Berlin, Brussels, Prague, and Bratislava. The aim is to create an embedded presence at the technology hubs of Europe. United Founders aspires to unite the European tech ecosystem by providing bridges for founders expanding to major markets.
„We believe that Europe is currently too fragmented to succeed against large ecosystems such as those in the US or China. Our ambition is to connect experienced technology entrepreneurs and build a platform for them to ‚give back‘ to the most promising and ambitious startups. Whether they invest their money or their time,“ says Horký, adding: „And because we believe that the future will be shaped not by more apps, but by transformative technologies focused on addressing population aging, changes in energy distribution, and the transition to an agentic AI economy and manufacturing, that’s what we want to focus on.“
Startups supported by United Founders will therefore tap into markets of over 233 million people, helping to counterbalance Europe’s fragmentation relative to the unified U.S. market, enabling their faster scaling.
